Principles

How we intend to build this

Open Global Mobility is in early validation. These principles describe the commitments that shape the work, and they are the basis on which we invite employers and providers to participate.

    Open participation

    Any qualified mobility provider can participate, regardless of size, region or technology maturity. Interoperability should widen access, not concentrate it.

    Provider ownership

    Providers keep ownership of their client relationships, commercial terms and service delivery. A common interface describes capability; it does not resell it.

  3. 03

    Neutrality

    No provider is ranked, promoted or preferred by default. Selection stays with the employer or the system acting on their instruction.

    Privacy by design

    Mobility data is sensitive. Only the data needed for a specific service request should move, and only with a clear basis for doing so.

    Interoperability over lock-in

    Common definitions, predictable request patterns and portable records. Participation should never depend on abandoning existing systems.

  6. 06

    Transparent standards work

    Definitions and interfaces are developed in the open with the organisations expected to use them, and published for review.
